Lesson in Farm to School by T Hancock http://inspirednc.org/a-fun-lesson-in-farm-to-school/#comment-19 T Hancock Wed, 02 Jan 2013 18:56:00 +0000 http://inspirednc.org/?p=715#comment-19 This is a great concept, except that's not how you are treated at Southside United. I finally got in after my appointment had been changed  (by Southside)  two times. I arrived 2 hours early for my visit, and sat in the waiting area until 20 (4:20) minutes after my appointment time. I was taken to a exam room where I sat until 4:35 when the door was opened and the person said  "there is someone in here". A few minutes later a nurse practitioner came into the room. She started by reading my file and then started to talk to me. After being in the room for just a few minutes she jumped up and left the room. About 10 minutes later she came back in and offered her apology. We stared again and with in a few minutes she jumped back up and left the room again, returning about 5 minutes later and again offering her apology. Well by now its 10 minutes to five, that's right they close at 5. Again she jumped up (this is three times) and left the room, this time only for a few minutes. Again, she came back and said she work have to order blood work and that I would have to come back. So I said that I had a few other issues we needed to talk about and she said I would have to set an appointment for each problem so they could have time. Really, I didn't get any time on this appointment. So my visit was to renew my blood pressure meds, and she would not refill them until blood work was done. So I had to leave without meds and giving blood because they are out of time! They had time to take my money! So I came back the next morning, first thing, gave blood was told it would take 3 to 10 days for the results. That was on Nov 19, 2012. I called the office on Dec. 6th, 2012 and I was told no doctor has reviewed the results and they would get back to me in a few days. I sat down teh same day and wrote Dr. Lord a letter about this. Today is Jan. 2, 2013, I still have not heard a thing, no blood pressure meds and too bad for me if I have a stroke or die. They sure did take my money for services i didn't receive!  Hope someone with any real concerns for patient care reads this. No one at Southside really cares.  This is a great concept, except that’s not how you are treated at Southside United.
